​DC Trombone Workshop 2025
Monday, July 21st to Saturday, July 26th

​General Information:​
  • The DC Trombone Workshop welcomes applications from student and professional trombonists of all races, religions, genders, sexual orientations, and nationalities (must be at least 18 years old)
  • Cost for tuition is $825. Please see the venue tab for housing costs.​
  • Applicants may request to be considered for merit scholarship, work study opportunities, and/or need based aid.
  • The early application deadline is March 31st. The final application deadline is May 2nd.
  • DCTW Participants will receive:
    • ​Individual Instruction: private lessons and a masterclass
    • Group Instruction: chamber music coachings, trombone choir, side-by-side playing with faculty, career seminars, and group warm-ups
    • Access to performances  ​

2025 DCTW Standard Program Includes:
  • Three 45 minute lessons with three different teachers
  • One masterclass performance
  • One orchestral repertoire or chamber music side by side
  • *Trombone Choir rehearsals and performance
  • Trombone Trio/Quartet/Quintet coachings and performance
  • Career Seminars and Q&As
  • Daily Group Warm Ups

*Participants may indicate in their application a desire to be placed in a Jazz Trombone Ensemble​
2025 DCTW Solo Track Includes: (limited enrollment)
  • Two 45 minute lessons; both lessons with Myles Blakemore, Brittany Lasch or Chris Davis
  • One masterclass performance for Christian Lindberg
  • One rehearsal of a solo piece with piano
  • Performance with piano on the Solo Track recital at the end of the workshop
  • *Trombone Choir rehearsals and performance
  • Trombone Trio/Quartet/Quintet coachings and performance
  • Career Seminars and Q&As
  • Daily Group Warm Ups​

DCTW 2025 will feature performances by Christian Lindberg, Axiom Brass, and The Capitol Bones, a solo excerpt recital by Noah Roper, solo recitals by Myles Blakemore, Brittany Lasch, and the DCTW Solo Track Participants, and final concerts featuring DCTW Chamber Ensembles and DCTW Trombone Choirs featuring Katie Franke
