Applying to the DC Trombone Workshop

: Fill out the application form by clicking on the image below

Step 2: Pay the DCTW 2025 Application Fee (below). This application fee is non-refundable. This fee will count towards tuition costs for the 2025 workshop for individuals who are accepted into the program. If you are applying for need based aid you do not need to pay the application fee.
​
*Apply by March 31st or earlier - $25 application fee
​*Apply April 1st or later - $75 application fee
***All applications must be received no later than May 2nd***

Step 3: (optional) Applicants may have a letter of recommendation emailed on their behalf to [email protected]
                            
Step 4: Admissions decisions will be released by April 15th (for applications received by March 31st) and by May 15th (for applications received between April 1st and May 2nd)

Step 5: Submit non refundable payment to secure your spot at the 2025 DC Trombone Workshop.

2025 Audition Guidelines
  • Audio and Video submissions are accepted.
  • Use a YouTube, Google Drive, or Dropbox link in your application
  • Recordings may be one continuous take or each piece may be recorded separately

2025 Audition Repertoire

  • Up to 5 minutes of solos, etudes and/or excerpts of your choice​ ​

Applications to be considered for the Solo Track^ and/or scholarship/work study*/aid**
  • Tenor Trombone​​
    1. ​​Mozart, Tuba Mirum (mm. 1-18)
    2. Beach, "Gaelic" Symphony (mvt. 1, 17 after Q to the end) 
    3. 2-3 minutes of solos, etudes, and/or excerpts of your choice^​

^To be considered for the DCTW Solo Track the third component of your audition repertoire must be a solo piece with live piano accompaniment

*Applicants interested in work study will asked to provide a brief statement of experience and interest related to areas they want to be considered for (resident advisor, AV assistant, administrative assistant, social media, photography, driving, childcare)
