George Washington University's (GWU) main Foggy Bottom campus is located in the heart of Washington, D.C., with the International Monetary Fund and World Bank located on the campus and the White House and U.S. Department of State just blocks away.  The campus is just a short walk, or free shuttle ride, from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, home of the National Symphony Orchestra and Washington National Opera.

Housing
  • Housing options through George Washington University's short stay summer housing will be available to participants 18 years and older.
  • Cost for housing: $265
    • Check in on Sunday, July 28th and check out on Saturday, August 3rd
    • Linen service included

Traveling to Washington, D.C.
  • Flying: The Washington, D.C. region is served by Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI).  While public transportation is available from all three airports to GWU, DCA is the closest airport and will be the simplest commute.
  • Train/Bus: Travel to Union Station.  Public transportation is available from Union Station to GWU.
  • Driving: Parking information TBA​
Commuting Students

Getting to GWU
  • Metro: The Foggy Bottom-GWU station is located on the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines.  It is a two minute walk to Phillips Hall from the station.
  • Driving/Parking: recommendations TBA
  • The DC Trombone Workshop will help facilitate carpools and/or supervised Metro rides from the Maryland and Virginia suburbs for middle and high school students.
