Two Ways To Compete

​DCTW 2020 Participants
  • Submit the required Preliminary Round repertoire in the form of mp3 or mp4 to [email protected] by May 10th, 2020.
    • Excerpts may be recorded separately (no editing within individual excerpts)
    • Please put in the subject line of your email: DCTW Competition
    • In the email please state your: First Name, Last Name, Tenor or Bass, Age (on July 30th, 2020), E-Mail Address​, DCTW 2020 Participant
  • You will be notified of your status by June 1st, 2020.
*There is no Competition Fee for DCTW Participants
**You may use the same recording for your DCTW application and for the DCTW Competition. Please submit your recording in two separate emails - one for your DCTW Application and one for the DCTW Competition.

Non-DCTW 2020 Participants
  • Submit the required Preliminary Round repertoire in the form of mp3 or mp4 to [email protected] by May 10th, 2020.

  • A non-refundable Competition Fee is required (see below)

  • Semi-Finalists/Finalists are responsible for all planning and costs associated with housing, food, travel, etc for the DC Trombone Workshop Competition
*Semi-Finalists/Finalists may audit the DC Trombone Workshop on July 29th and 30th free of charge

The Fine Print
  • Tenor and Bass Trombonists will compete together
  • To compete you must be under the age of 30 as of July 30th, 2020
  • Trombonists who have full-time contracts with professional orchestras, military bands, or higher education teaching positions are not eligible.
