A typical day at the DC Trombone Workshop: 8:45 - Group Warm-Up or Individual Practice 9:30 - Chamber Music Coaching 10:30 - Masterclass or Orchestral Repertoire Class 12:00 - Faculty Recital 1:45 - Orchestral Repertoire Class and Individual Lessons 3:00 - Trombone Choir Rehearsal 5:30 - Career Discussions 8:00 - Masterclass or Military Band Concert |
Applying to the DC Trombone Workshop
*Application deadline - May 1st, 2019* Step 1: Fill out the application form and email it to dctwdirector@gmail.com ![]()
Step 2: Send an audio or video recording as a file in an email or a YouTube link to dctwdirector@gmail.com Audition Repertoire: 3-5 minutes of solos and/or excerpts of your choice Step 3: (optional) Applicants may optionally have a letter of recommendation emailed on their behalf to dctwdirector@gmail.com Step 4: You will be contacted regarding acceptance to the program and any scholarship/assistantships by May 15th, 2019. More detailed information regarding payment will be sent at this time. Step 5: Submit payment by June 10th, 2019 to secure your spot at the 2019 DC Trombone Workshop. |
![]() Assistantships
Ensemble Assistantships: - Participants with ensemble assistantships will rehearse and perform in a trombone choir with younger students - Your recording and optional letter of recommendation will be taken into consideration in assigning ensemble assistantships (Participants with ensemble assistantships will play in a more experienced trombone choir as well) Teaching Assistantships: - Participants with teaching assistantships will work with younger students in lessons, sectionals, and group classes - Applicants for teaching assistantships should send a one page résumé or cover letter detailing their teaching and work related experiences - Your recording and optional letter of recommendation will also be taken into consideration in assigning teaching assistantships *Applicants are eligible to earn both ensemble and teaching assistantships* |
